There’s an app for that. No really—there is. Believe it or not, the Apple App Store carries a variety of acupuncture applications for your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. These digital tools provide information, visuals, FAQs, and even quizzes all related to acupuncture treatment. Here are six of the most top-rated acupuncture apps for iPhone/iPad:

TCM Clinic Aid

Practitioners and students of Traditional Chinese Medicine can use TCM Clinic Aid as a reference guide (built specifically for iPad). Diagnosis should be done by a licensed acupuncturist or herbalist.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store (the trial version is free).

Manual of Acupuncture

This app is a digital form of the best-selling textbook A Manual of Acupuncture. It includes every point from the book in English and Chinese, an indications index, illustrations, explanatory videos, and more. There’s even a self-testing module for those DIY folks out there.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store.

Easy Acupuncture 3D

A great tool for practitioners in training, this app is a visual study guide that portrays all acupuncture points in full 3D as well as illustrated images, animations, and text. Easy Acupuncture 3D is user-friendly and interactive.  The Lite version is free.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store.

Acupoints Location Quiz

Test your knowledge of human anatomy and Traditional Chinese Medicine with this quiz app. It’s designed as a game of illustrated questions that can be used for testing and/or educational purposes.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store (Part 1 and Part 2).

Massage Map 3D

This app focuses on acupressure, a form of massage based on acupuncture points.  It’s the first software to provide a 3D map of all the body’s acupressure points and provide user reviews for the effectiveness of acupoints.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store.

AcuPoints

The AcuPoints app compiles several traditional acupuncture tests, training programs, and extensive information of the point and its uses. Featured include point graphics, functions, effects, point tables, user notes, and more.  Also available for android phones and tablets in the Google Play store.

Whether you’re new to acupuncture or have been using this treatment for years, these apps are a great resource to understand the practice.
